Endemol UK today announced the launch of an official app based on the hit BBC One game show
Pointless. For the first time ever, fans and friends can now play their favourite quiz show on iOS
and Android anytime and anywhere.

Pointless hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman will guide players as they challenge
friends or participate in their own game. Just like the TV show, obscure knowledge is the key to
success and competitors must score fewer points than their opponent by giving an answer no-one
else thought of.

Alexander Armstrong says; “For ages people have been asking me why there isn’t a Pointless app
and I always had to make up some sort of answer (“because of non-alignment of data across
territories” – that one always worked better than “it’s because of the beavers”) anyway now I don’t
have to make stuff up anymore because the Pointless app… is HERE! Hooray! And it’s really,
really good! Double hooray!”

Richard Osman adds; “The new Pointless app is a great way for fans of the show to compete
against each other and their friends, testing their knowledge of little known facts and figures. They
might even get to play against me… if they do then I hope they will respectfully let me win”

The new app will allow players to go head to head with other Pointless fans via Facebook, email or
at random and has over 900 questions plus ‘Pointless Pointers’ to help anyone who gets stuck on a
tricky question.

It also features a single player game where those who make it to the final round win a coveted
Pointless trophy and a chance at nabbing the virtual jackpot. Users of the app can win trophies to
climb the global leader board and show off Pointless knowledge.

The official Pointless app is priced at £1.49, available now on iOS and coming soon to Android.
