Follow this Easy Pancake Recipe for yummy pancakes…yes we know it isn’t pancake day…but you can eat them any day!

Ingredients:

  • 110g plain flour (you can use self raising if that’s all you have.)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 200ml of milk mixed with 75ml of water
  • 50g of melted butter

Kitchen stuff: Mixing bowl, Sieve, Weighing Scales, Measuring Jug, Whisk/Fork, Frying Pan

Makes 12 pancakes

How to make them:

1) Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl. Hold the sieve high above the bowl so it all gets a good airing.

2) Make a well in the middle of the flour and break the eggs into it, before whisking it all up together (if you don’t have a whisk a fork will do).

3) Gradually add small quantities of the milk and water mixture as you whisk, continuing until all the batter is smooth. It should have the consistency of single cream.

4) Melt the butter in a pan. Spoon 2 tbsp of it into the batter and whisk.

5) Get the pan really hot to begin with, and then turn it down to a medium heat for making the pancakes. Pour in a little of batter and tip it round from side to side until the bottom of the pan is evenly coated.

6) After around 30 seconds check to see if it is cooked (you’re looking for a golden colour). Once the underside is cooked it’s time to get flipping – either do it the old-fashioned way with a flick of the wrist or, if you don’t trust your pancake flipping abilities, use whatever kitchen implement you think will do the job.

7) Cook the other side of your pancake for a few seconds, then place it onto a plate and add your toppings. Then add more butter to the pan ready to make the next pancake.
