Technology journalism guest writers wanted!

Technology disruption

iDisrupted – the cutting-edge book on disruptive technology – is looking for marketing and economic guest contributors this summer.

Are you excited by technology and its future impact? Do you want to be a journalist or reporter? Would you like real experience at one of the fastest-growing technology blogs in the UK? If so, we’ve got a great opportunity for you.

Changes in technology are happening at a scale and speed that was previously unimaginable. John Straw, a leading technology expert recently published a book iDisrupted (check it out on Amazon). There is also a blog at iDisrupted.com, which acts as a filter for the huge amount of information covering disruptive technology, bringing its readers the latest news, insight and analysis.

iDisrupted is currently hiring guest writers – a real news-writing professional who wants to get on-the-job experience, build a portfolio, network in the tech world and possibly work towards a full-time position at iDisrupted.

Here’s what they’re looking for:

  • some blogging experience – they’re specifically looking for economic and tech commentary on some of the more interesting facts from the book in order to spark a discussion on social media
  • interest in technology, business and the business of technology
  • fantastic social media skills – specifically LinkedIn and Twitter
  • a desire to do actual reporting not just copying/pasting press releases
  • a willingness to engage with the tech community
  • a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

They’re looking for contributors who are independent and self motivated with good news judgment, and need people who are able to read, understand and communicate information quickly and accurately.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including blog posts, interviews, social media campaigns and press releases. As an iDisrupted guest writer, you will work with experts in technology, economics and the media business as a whole. The position offers a strong foundation for anyone tech-obsessed looking to get into journalism.

Benefits include a free copy of the book and the endorsement of the authors for your LinkedIn profile – plus there’s a prize for the best contributor of a week in San Francisco as a cub reporter in the tech business!

To apply, please email rob.prevett@idisrupted.com with your CV and some recent examples of your writing.
