It’s all about the…

Blog mania
When did you start your blog?
Very recently, in the past month. I’ve always wanted to create a blog about my experiences and ways to save money, however I didn’t really have too much time in my final year, as I wanted to graduate with a half decent grade! But now I have all the time in the world…

Have you had any other online presences?

I’ve been on many different online platforms in the past. I started off with using the internet for MSN, but quickly moved onto MySpace, Bebo, Piczo and of course Facebook. I even enjoy tweeting now and then, but I still haven’t really got into it (maybe it’s because I’m older now and struggle with new technology!)
Why did you start a blog?
I’ve always wanted to create a platform where I could share my experiences on a wider scale, I found a website was too impersonal however I then started a blog, and felt it had both, the personal factor, yet some things could still be set up like a website.
When did you become serious about starting a blog?
I’d love to become a serious, ‘professional’ blogger or something like that, but for now this is just a hobby I enjoy. 🙂

What was your first post?

You have the joy of being able to read my first post here. As I had read so many blogs prior to starting my own, I had a fairly good idea that I wanted to start off with a small introduction… but then everything else…just fell into some sort of mess!

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?

My biggest challenge has been keeping up with posting. I’ve also been very busy with university work, but I also sometimes struggle with what to post. I find that sometimes I’m posting things (such as guides) just for the sake of posting, rather than that I enjoy it or think my readers would be interested in it.
Where do you see your blog in one year?
Things could be very different in one year’s time, however I hope that my blog has a strong direction and I’ve still managed to interest my readers enough to stick with me! I also hope that I can branch out from money saving to encompass more about student life and making the transition into a working graduate.

What is the most discouraging thing that has happened to you?
I get discouraged when I see my site still struggling for visitors, but I hope with better content and myself learning and sharing the best deals I can find I can reach a wider target audience.

What’s your lasting inspiration/motivation?
I’m mainly inspired by my interest in saving money and living as well as you can cheaply. Having spent three years at university I was adamant from day one that I didn’t want to live on a diet of super noodles and beans on toast. Hopefully this blog will help someone, and if it does, that’s all that matters.
