What I’ve enjoyed from a ever developing (Applied Performance) course

Applied Performance

Looking back over my past three years, it has been a very diverse experience, I’ve laughed, cried and perhaps more importantly, been intellectually challenged and learnt many more performance skills. I have also met a bunch of extremely talented people (to whom I wish the very best.) The future of applied performance is looking very strong!

The course is still developing for the better as I leave, and part of me wishes I was just starting! Looking at some of the exciting projects the years below me are putting on, I really wish I was a part of it. However I know my year where the start of this very important development process, and the work we put in has helped shaped the future of the course. This will also reflect on our CV’s with the standard of work being produced and the versatility of the students.

Applied Performance – Pirates of Canon Hill Park

If you in Birmingham this weekend be sure to check out the 1st year Applied Performances childrens theatre piece ‘Pirates of Canon Hill Park’ it’s a fantastically engaging and exciting performance piece, I loved it, and I don’t often say that about anyones work, yet alone my peers’. It’s on at the Midlands Arts Centre – Sat 15 Jun, 7pm & Sun 16 Jun, 1pm. http://www.macarts.co.uk/event/pirates-of-cannon-hill

For the future?

Well at the moment I’m freelancing in whatever I can get as I have picked up a real diverse set of skills from my life so far, still searching for a full-time job though, it would be nice to have some security for a bit, plus I don’t really want to move back in with my parents after having 3 years living in Birmingham!

(Hopefully) in the not too distant future I want to start my own theatre company addressing relevant political & social issues in order to help, educate and inform individuals from all backgrounds and diverse communities.
