Moroccanoil Treatment review

Moroccanoil Treatment

HQhair kindly sent us some Moroccanoil Treatment to review – Student Blogger Selection member Heather gave it a go. Here’s what she thought…

You know what it’s like, if your hair doesn’t look good, you don’t feel at your best. Having fine, frizzy and generally misbehaved hair myself, I’ve spent literally hundreds of pounds over the years on great-sounding hair products that promise to give luscious locks, in the hope of finding something to tame my mane.

I’d heard good things about Moroccanoil Treatment and so have always thought about giving it a try, so when The Student Blogger asked if I’d like to review it I quickly said yes, in the hope that it could transform my dull, unruly and parched hair into something a bit more glamourous.

Looking at the description of Moroccanoil Treatment on the HQhair website it says that it’s an ultra-light oil that’s intensely nourishing and ideal for dry and damaged hair. It contains argan oil which is said to help protect hair against uv damage, and the oil is also supposed to help control frizz and give a natural silky finish. Sounds great – but would it work on my rebellious hair? Well it was definitely worth a try…

After washing my hair with my usual cheap and cheerful shampoo and conditioner, then towel-drying it, I opened the small brown bottle of Moroccanoil Treatment and applied a penny-sized amount of oil to my hair, giving it a good comb through to try and get an even coating. The product had a nice, natural sweet fragrance to it which wasn’t overpowering, and the oil did indeed feel ultra-lightweight when applied – there was no feeling of heaviness that you can get with some styling products.

Usually when I blow dry my hair, despite spending ages trying to carefully style it and pointing the nozzle of the hairdryer downwards to get a sleek finish, my hair just turns into a mass of dry frizz, and it’s down to the hair straighteners to try and get it looking a bit more respectable. So after using the Moroccanoil Treatment I was surprised to see that whilst blow drying my hair it was actually looking as smooth as it would as if I had straightened my hair.

Once dried, I was quite impressed with the results and there was a definite difference to the look and feel of my hair – it felt soft and manageable with very little frizz and it was unusually smooth. I would have been happy enough not to use my straighteners (unheard of!) and to get on with my day but wondered if I could get my hair looking even better, so went ahead and used my straighteners as usual. The results were impressive – I actually felt as though I’d had a professional blow dry – my hair was very straight, had a great shine to it, felt silky and dare I say it – even slinky!

I will definitely be using this product again and although I only have a small 25ml bottle I can see that it is (thankfully) going to last for quite a long time as you only need such a small amount each time.

Moroccanoil Treatment is available for £13.45 (25ml) on HQhair along with a huge range of other Moroccanoil products, such as Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, Intense Curl Cream and Hydrating Mask.
