#gdnomination – Make a good deed nomination

I’m sure everyone has heard of the neknomination craze that has spread across social media and various media outlets the past few weeks, if you haven’t read some of the links below –

Obviously what has started as a bit of fun (although drinking in excess is never ‘big’ or clever) has turned sour with more and more lethal combinations being drunk and sadly resulting in the deaths of a couple of individuals. However through searching around I have seen quite a few instances where it has been turned around into something positive, people buying food for the homeless etc. I thought we could try and go one step further and spread good deeds in a similar fashion to neknomination as opposed to drinking in excess.

As a community  it would be great if we could use social media for something positive, a ‘good deed nomination’ in fact. Sometimes we neglect to be nice, we all have our stone wall faces on (I’m especially guilty when walking in the city!), lets just take the time to appreciate what we have and perhaps (if we are in the situation to) give to someone who isn’t as well off. It doesn’t need to huge, not by any stretch of the imagination, nor does it have to cost money, a smile or help with the shopping is sometimes all that is needed to help lift someone day.

If you would like take part just do a good deed then pass it on over social media to some friends/followers using the hashtag #gdnomination

If you can, I’d love you to share this in every way possible – tweeting about it, facebook it, even shouting it from the roof tops! The more people involved the better, perhaps we can inject a little bit of positive change into someone’s life, even if it’s only a few people I think it’s a job well done.
