If you’re lucky enough to have scored festival tickets this summer you’ll want to plan a fashion lineup that’s as good as the music! As any regular festival goer knows it’s as much about what you’re wearing as it is who you’re listening to so STYLIGHT have compiled a list of the top 9 fashion essentials that any festival goer should have in their backpack.

1. A stylish cross body bag

This is an essential for any festival. You’ll want your arm candy to be hands free giving you the opportunity to carry more beers, you camera and, well, more beers. This mini crossbody bag is classic and a steal at £16 or if you’re up for pushing the style stakes have a little fun with this robot bag, both from ASOS.

2. The perfect denim shorts

Denim shorts are to festivals as mac is to cheese. You just can’t head to a festival without ‘em. We suggest sticking to traditional blue versions generally with a frayed or distressed effect. Keep it classic with a pair from Levi’s or splash the cash on these super flattering ones from Aussie label Ksubi.

3. A dare-to-bare crop top

There’s no better occasion to rock a crop top than at a festival. Bare all in this floral version from ASOS or up the elegant factor in this lace number by Missguided.

4. Fringed anything!

70’s is so on trend this season so channel your inner boho vibe with fringed finds this summer. Missguided has this awesome fringed crop top that’ll look great with cut off denim shorts. This kimono jacket is also perfect for throwing over a bikini between sets or pick up this fringed bag from Day Birger Et Mikkelsen in this season’s hot bucket bag shape.

5. Shades

Bit of an obvious one really but sunglasses are an essential for any festival. Perfect for when the sun is glaring in your eyes as you’re watching your favourite band but also for hiding the bags under your eyes from the night before. Aviators and Wayfarers are always a good bet, but if you’re looking for something a little different we love this tortoiseshell pair from Le Specs.

6. A flattering bikini

Bikini’s are always good for throwing on under some dungarees or a sheer shirt. Zimmermann’s always fit like a glove and this version has a great print that could double up as a bra or crop top to wear with your denim shorts. If you’re after something a little more affordable this bustier style by Minkpink really makes a statement.

7. Dancing shoes

As much as we’d love to wear sandals and heels at a festival it’s just not practical or pleasant, that’s why we’re all about the trainers. For comfort and style rock the fashion girl favourite Stan Smiths we also love these navy New Balance kicks.

8. A floppy hat

Channel Kate Bosworth and Rosie Huntington Whitely at Coachella in a boho floppy hat. This straw one will really pull your outfit together and will also save you from embarrassing sunburn lines.

9. LCD – ahem, a Little Crochet Dress

We love crochet when festival season comes around. A crochet dress is so easy to throw on over a bikini and dress up or down, it also flaunts just the right amount of skin. This white version is just the right amount of Gypsy chic, or go for this stylish Mango version.
