5 Shortcuts to Looking and Feeling Good

5 Shortcuts to Looking and Feeling Good

But what we can offer, is a few rather random and unconnected tips that’ll have you feeling good and looking even better in no time.

5. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil? Perfect for young skin prone to break outs and coming in at just over a pound at Boots, it’s a lot more worth your money than the typical off the shelf pimple remedies. Not only is it completely au naturel, it’s pretty damn excellent at clearing up annoying blemishes, spots and pimples. It’s also been proven to improve acne and holds a plethora of other handy uses such as soothing eczema and blisters. Clear skin may just be one drop away.

4. Reusable Water Bottles (and a piece of coal)

Not only are they überly sustainable and planet friendly, you’ll end up saving around £365 per year just by replacing your usual disposable water bottle with a stainless steel, aluminium or bio plastic one. The piece of coal is optional, but tap water is free, yet most of us don’t really want to drink it. Fear no more, as charcoal is an ancient water filter that’s been used for centuries in the far east. It absorbs chlorine, unpleasant tastes and odours, all whilst infusing your bland tap water with natural minerals. It lasts about 3 months and once it’s reached the end of its use, crush it up and chuck it over some soil so the plants get some extra nutrition. I don’t suggest you go raiding the BBQ for old charcoal, there are plenty of places online to buy coal especially for filtering. You can even buy bottles with a piece already in there. Alternatively you could just buy a water bottle with a filter in the lid, but charcoal sounds so much more interesting.

3. Green Tea

Generally, anyone looks good with a cup of green tea in hand. You’ll come across as cultured, and zen, and like you take good care of yourself. And that’s exactly why its a good excuse to binge on custard creams! It’s not all that bad indulging in baked sugary goods because you’re having it with green tea. The super drink with the ability to ward off cancer, prevent bad breath and burn fat. Although none of these claims have been solidly proven, it does give an excellent caffeine boost and calms any exam stress you’re suffering from.

4. Vaseline

This may just be one of the world’s greatest beauty secrets. Sure, use vaseline for dry lips but don’t underestimate its other contributions to your beauty routine either! Rub some on your eyelashes before you go to sleep, over time you should notice a longer and thicker set of lashes. Rub some around you nails before you paint them so you don’t get any polish on your skin. Or rub a thin layer on your pulse points before applying perfume or cologne so it lasts longer. This isn’t just a lady thing, guys you can use it as…cheap shoe shine maybe?

5. Exercise

Not what you were hoping for, I know. But these days there really is no excuse. A gym membership isn’t necessary when exercise really is as easy as taking the long route to a lecture rather than the shorter and easier one. Just because it’s raining outside doesn’t mean you should cancel your 10 minute jog. We have Zumba on XBox now, and hundreds of hours of youtube content teaching you how to build up your biceps and work on your cardio. I can’t say I always listen to this piece of advice, but exercise leaves you feeling good, and a couple of months down the line it’ll leave you looking even better. You know why exercise is number one? Because it’s completely free yet leaves you with the greatest outcome. A bit of motivation and finding the journey to the top floor a lot easier.
