A start-up launched by two recent graduates is looking to add a splash of colour, zest and happiness to the world of fashion.
Natalie Cope, a design graduate from Huddersfield University, and James Foster, who studied law at Salford University, set up Bryt with two goals in mind: creating a brand that only produces bright clothes, and improving the confidence and happiness of those who wear Bryt’s clothes.
‘We’re making our first steps to become the first brand that only produces bright clothes,’ explains James. ‘That’s right, bright colours only. We know we’re not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s the point. We have found our niche and will be hitting it hard.’
‘The fashion industry is creating trend after trend to satisfy the insecurity of blending in. That’s why Bryt wants to create a trend to stand out. Cause happiness. Create change and be the catalyst to a brighter future. Who said that couldn’t look good and be fun!’
Bryt is starting off with a Kickstarter campaign, and has already reached a third of its £18,000 fundraising goal with 24 days to go. Those backing Bryt on Kickstarter can choose from nine funky designs of socks – all using the very best long narrow combed cotton fibres and made in the UK – and a range of other fun rewards. If the campaign exceeds its target, Bryt are planning an initial collection of 25 men’s and women’s sock designs and an entire collection of underwear too. And that’s not all – the entrepreneurial duo have big plans for the future, with hundreds of super bright designs ready to go into production.
